Perhaps you've never heard of it , but the ESA is a gateway to the European continent space , easier said , NASA is in Europe. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe's space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe.

The ESA has 20 Member States: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain , Finland, France, Greece , Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg , Norway , Netherlands , Poland , Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Sweden and Switzerland.

 The coordination of economic and intellectual resources of its members can carry out programs and outreach activities that could carry any European country individually.

The ESA headquarters is in Paris, where decisions are made about future projects . However, the ESA also has various centers across Europe , each with its specific function.
EAC , the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne (Germany ) .
ESAC , the European Space Astronomy Centre , located in Villanueva de la Cañada, Madrid.
ESOC , the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt (Germany )
ESRIN , ESA 's center for Earth Observation in Frascati , near Rome (Italy ) .
ESTEC , the European Space Research and Technology in Noordwijk (Netherlands).
