The EU has 24 official languages , unless the number of member states in certain countries because several languages are spoken. Moreover, also because not all official languages are recognized as official languages of the EU. This is the case of the Luxembourg language , the official language of Luxembourg from 1984 and the case of the Turkish , the official language of Cyprus.
All official EU languages are working languages. The documents state that a member or a person sent to the institutions of the community may be written in any official EU language .
